Send Passwords Through Your Body

A research team at the University of Washington show-cased how to open a door with a password send from an iPhone’s fingerprint scanner through the body to a receiving device.

This “on-body transmission” might provide an alternative to wifi or bluetooth for short-distance communication scenarios. It could also be applied for secure key transmissions to medical devices such as glucose monitors or insulin pumps, which seek to confirm someone’s identity, according to the researchers.
